Rachel Gita Karp (she/her) is the Programs Director at the Center for Artistic Activism. The Center for Artistic Activism helps people use their creativity and culture to build activist campaigns that win. Rachel supports bold, strategic, and ambitious organizations, people, and projects that fight for progressive causes with creativity and innovation. She’s helped over 140 organizations and 2,100 individuals with training, community-building, mentorship, and more. Johanna Fernández, Associate Professor of 20th Century US History at CUNY’s Baruch College and the Graduate Center, is the author of The Young Lords: A Radical History, winner of the American Book Award, the New York City Book Award, and top honors from the Organization of American Historians. Her FOIL lawsuit recovered over one million NYPD surveillance files. She is co-director of The Latinx Freedom Movement Archive and Exhibition Project and is writing a book on the historical roots of US Fascism.
